Young Five Supplies (2020-2021 School Year)
Young Five Supplies
2020-2021 School Year
We are asking that you purchase the following supplies for this school
year. Please read carefully and only label with your child’s name the supplies
that we indicate need labeled.
(2 inch) 3 ring binder with a clear plastic pocket on the front cover.
Please write name on inside cover.
Labeled pencil box (please no pencil pouches)
4 boxes of 8 small crayons (Preferably Crayola)
Two sharpened #2 pencils
1 highlighter
1 pair of scissors
1 package of glue sticks
Headphones (no earbuds) labeled with your child’s name
Girls Only- 1 box colored pencil and 1 box broad line (fat) markers
Boys Only – 1 box fine line (skinny) markers and 1 roll of paper towels
1 box of tissues
2 containers of Clorox or Lysol wipes
1 bottle of hand sanitizer
1 bottle of Lysol spray
For rest time, your child will need a vinyl tri-fold nap mat. We need
them to by vinyl so they can be disinfected often. You can usually find
these at Walmart, Target, or Amazon. Here is a link so you can see a
picture of what we are asking for https://www.walmart.com/ip/Peerless-
Plastics-Blue-Teal-KinderMat-2-x-19-x-44/50184165 . They are often called a
“kindermat” and cost between $10.00- $20.00. The size that works
for our lockers is the 19” wide, 1-2" thick and 44-45” long. Be aware
that rest mats are a popular purchase this time of year, so I strongly
encourage you to shop early. Please label the mat (not the tag) with a
dark colored permanent marker.
You may also want to provide a very small travel size pillow and small
blanket. A beach towel works perfect for a little blanket. Please
label all the rest time supplies with your child’s name. All our rest
supplies must be stored in our lockers so please remember small is
best. We will be sending the blankets and pillows home very often to
be washed.
Large backpack (preferably without wheels)
Sturdy two-pocket folder, labeled, to be kept in our backpacks
Labeled gallon zip lock bag with a change of clothes – spills and
accidents sometimes happen. This will be kept in your child’s locker or
backpack.
Shoebox size plastic box, approximately 16 quarts
We understand that some of these items (especially the disinfecting
items) may be difficult to find, if you cannot provide them, we completely
understand.
Once you have all your supplies, it’s time to fill your pencil box with
labeled supplies. Everything in your pencil box should be labeled with your
child’s name or initials. Make sure the outside of your pencil box is labeled
with your child’s name and then add:
2 sharpened pencils
1 box of crayons
2 glue sticks
Scissors
Highlighter
All the “extra” supplies you bought will be kept by your teacher so when
someone needs an item, we have it. Please DO NOT label the “extra” items,
however; before you give us your “extra” supplies you may want to set aside
2 pencils, 1 box of crayons, 2 glue sticks, and a highlighter to keep at home.
I hope that you also have a pair of child-sized scissors at home.
